Missions at Grace
We are serious about our mission...
Interfaith Hospitality Network
The only resource for homeless families in Warren County is the Interfaith Hospitality Network.
Most shelters function as a temporary respite for single adults only. IHNWC, however, is designed to keep families together in a homelike atmosphere while identifying and resolving the issues that made them homeless. Many of these families have jobs, but do not have the education and life skills necessary to get and maintain a permanent home.
GCPC acts as a support group for Resurrection Lutheran, one of twenty host churches in Warren County. (Host churches house up to fourteen persons overnight for one week.) Once every ten weeks, GCPC volunteers to fix a hot meal and serve as evening and overnight hosts to Resurrection’s guests. A typical group is composed of five or six adults and seven to nine children, half of whom are under the age of six. We also participate in several fundraising events including "Christmas in July" which provides new clothing, backpacks of supplies, shoes and haircuts to about 75 children participating in the IHN program. Grace was last year's largest supporter of this major fund-raising event
This is a loving, practical and cost effective way of helping families who desperately need assistance.
Little Miami Food Pantry
Our food barrel in the Narthex is available for donations of food and household supplies. Everything is appreciated. Our mission committee donates money for perishable items and other needed supplies. We have been feeding about 300 families each month. Our volunteers dispense food at the Pantry every 6 weeks throughout the year. We also have a Garden staffed by the Food Pantry volunteers to provide fresh produce, recipes, and education to our neighbors who use the Pantry.
Abuse and Rape Shelter of Warren County
Our congregation faithfully supports the services of this shelter and the education this organization provides to the community.
Bernie's Place
Bernie's Place Adult Homeless Shelter provides a clean, safe environment for up to several weeks. On the second Thursday of each month, volunteers from Grace Presbyterian take dinner and stay to eat with the residents. Grace also provides funds and food to the shelter throughout the year.
Grace Circle
Grace Circle is our Presbyterian Women’s Association group and is involved in the following missions: Fellowship of the Least Coin; Church World Service projects; scholarships to local students; Book Ends Mission for Louisville Seminary.
Christmas With Grace Craft Bazaar
The Mission Committee has a table at the annual holiday bazaar. The proceeds from the sales go to support church mission.
Teens of Grace (TOGs)
Our mission is to be a fun group with a community conscience. We do projects that will benefit globally as well as locally. We take pride in all of our accomplishments and know that through our work we are serving our Lord. To date we have collected items for a nursing home and a homeless clinic, done yard work for the elderly and have put together boxes for Operation Christmas Child, an organization that provides needed items for children all over the world at Christmas time. We have also served as evening hosts for Interfaith Hospitality Network, supervising outdoor play and making crafts.
Our biggest and ongoing mission is with our local school district, named The Little Miami School Project. With the help of a social worker assigned to the district, we buy items for needy students. We will purchase everything from clothes, coats, shoes, undergarments and even haircuts for these students. Our group holds several fundraisers and receives donations to fund this mission.
